Adjunct Faculty- Nursing, Medical Surgery

Mercy College of Health Sciences has an immediate need for adjuncts this summer on the Medical Surgery floor of Mercy Medical Center. Hours are on Saturdays from 7 AM-3PM. Responsibilities include ensuring students receive the appropriate education by teaching, guiding and advising students during clinicals, providing constructive feedback to students enabling them to improve their clinical skills, and reviewing and grading assignments as needed.

Adjunct Faculty- Mathematics

Mercy College of Health Sciences has an opening for an adjunct position that will teach and oversee mathematics courses including Math for General Studies, College Algebra, Fundamentals of Statistics, and Biostatistics. This position is responsible for ensuring students receive the appropriate education by teaching, guiding and advising students, providing constructive feedback to students enabling them to improve their skills, and reviewing and grading assignments as needed.

Qualifications include: a Master’s degree in mathematics or related field, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in mathematics or statistics, demonstrated ability in managing, leading or training others preferred, and teaching experience in higher education preferred.

Transfer Credit Specialist

Mercy College of Health Sciences has an opening for a Transfer Credit Specialist. The position will be responsible for providing accurate and timely evaluations of transfer coursework for both prospective and current students. This position will also provide assistance to transfer students, maintain credit modules, policies and procedures, and develop Transfer Guides. Duties include evaluating student transcripts, working with faculty to determine equivalencies, updating student transcripts, and creating, monitoring, updating, and supporting the computerized Transfer Credit Evaluation modules.

Assistant Professor-Nursing

We are seeking candidates for our expanding nursing programs. The position will provide teaching and guidance to nursing students in the BSN, Accelerated BSN or Paramedic to BSN programs. Duties include providing advisement and guidance for intellectual and professional development of students, collaborating with other faculty, preceptors, field faculty, and clinical agencies to provide optimum learning opportunities for students, and developing, implementing and revising course content in a limited subject area.

Qualifications include a Master's degree in nursing, a minimum of 2 years' experience in a clinical environment and experience and/or education in the med/surg, obstetrics, mental health or community health environments.

EMS Instructor

The EMS Instructor will provide teaching and advisement to students in the EMT and Paramedic programs. The position will also be responsible for teaching CPR, ACLS and/or PALS certifications in the Mercy College Training Center. Duties include coordinating and teaching CPR and other advanced life saving skills to students and in community outreach, providing individual advisement and guidance for intellectual and professional development of students, and collaborating with other faculty, preceptors, field faculty, and clinical agencies to provide optimum learning opportunities for students.

Tutor

Tutors are needed in specific courses in the tutor's area of expertise. Responsibilities include assisting students on a one-to-one or small-group basis to provide learning assistance, collaborateing with instructors to assess the student’s needs and how best to address them, and keeping regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions.

Adjunct Faculty Positions

Nursing

Adjunct instructors are needed to teach in the clinical environments for the ASN and BSN programs. Responsibilities include ensuring students receive the appropriate education by teaching, guiding and advising students during clinicals, providing constructive feedback to students enabling them to improve their clinical skills, and reviewing and grading assignments as needed.

CPR, ACLS and PALS

Adjunct instructors are needed to teach CPR, ACLS and PALS courses. Duties include teaching and supervising students learning basic life support skills, evaluating student's skills learned, and ensures classroom is equipped with appropriate supplies and teaching tools.

Qualifications include a BLS certification in CPR for the Healthcare Worker and experience in healthcare delivery. CPR, ACLS and PALS instructors must have a current Instructor Certification. For ACLS and PALS a minimum of 1-year experience as an ACLS or PALS provider is required.

Skills Evaluators - EMS

In this position, you will provide evaluation of skills testing for Paramedic and EMT students ensuring fair, reliable and objective evaluation. The position is considered an as needed position, therefore, days and hours will vary pending your availability and College needs.
