Mercy College of Health Sciences Digital Privacy Statement
This Digital Privacy Statement applies to your interaction with the Mercy College of Health Sciences (hereinafter Mercy College) website, and online resources integrated into and with the Mercy College website and governs data collection and usage by Mercy College.  To the extent permitted by applicable law, by using the Mercy College website, or interacting with a Mercy College advertisement or page or account on a third-party website you consent to the data practices described in this Statement.

Collection of your Personal Information

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website.  When you return to a website you have visited before, your browser gives this data back to the website to help it remember your preferences and personalize your experience; enhance site performance and security; and enable interest-based advertising.  First-Party Cookies are text files placed on your device when you visit a website that allow the website owner to monitor your interactions with its site.  When you visit the Mercy College website, we, or our service providers, may use cookies.  Third-Party Cookies are text files placed on your device when you visit a website with embedded advertisements or content from a different website that allow that website to track your activity across different websites.

What are pixels?
Pixels are small, often invisible images embedded in web pages or emails.  Pixels are used to track user activity and gather data for various purposes, such as advertising, email marketing, and website analytics.  Pixels enable data sharing between a web server and an advertising server.

How does Mercy College use Cookies and Pixels?

How we do not use your Personal Information?
Mercy College does not sell, rent or lease its customer information to third parties.  Mercy College may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that we think may be of interest to you.  In those cases, your personally identifiable information is not transferred to the third party.  In addition, Mercy College may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries.  All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Mercy College, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

Mercy College tracks the web pages users visit on the Mercy College website.  This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within the Mercy College website to users whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

Mercy College will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or if Mercy College reasonably believes that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the law or comply with legal process; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Mercy College; or, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Mercy College website or students, employees, guests or members of the general public who may visit the Mercy College campus.

When you provide your information you may receive communications from Mercy College via email, telephone, and text message.  By submitting your information, you agree and consent to receipt of such communications.  Individuals may opt-out of marketing communications that are unrelated to your admission, orientation, enrollment, course administration, or emergency communication, at any time, through the supplied opt-out mechanism.

Security of your Personal Information
Mercy College secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.  Mercy College of Health Sciences secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.  When sensitive information (like credit card numbers) is provided, that information is protected through the use of encryption which transforms the information into an unreadable code, protecting it during transactions and storage.

Mercy College may occasionally update this Digital Privacy Statement to reflect company and user feedback.  Mercy College encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how Mercy College is using and protecting your information.
