As a new student at the College, you are required to attend an orientation/registration session. This is an event located at Mercy College of Health Sciences. This session introduces you to critical policies and deadlines as well as available student services and activities. During the session, you will choose your courses with help from faculty advisors and register for your first semester.

How long will the orientation last?
Orientation and registration is a two and a half hour event. An additional thirty minutes will be included for students admitted in select majors. Your exact orientation times will be communicated to you after you register.
What do I need to bring to orientation?
All you need to bring to orientation is your license plate number. An Orientation Guide will be provided as well as writing materials. Also, bring any questions you may have that you would like answered about Mercy College.
Can my parents or family members attend orientation?
We welcome parents and/or family members to attend. There will be a separate "Parent, Spouse, and Family Session" following the "Welcome and Introduction to the College". Parents and/or family members will be able to attend this session while their student attends various Student Success Sessions. Parents and/or family members will then have the option to leave and come back at the end of Orientation to pick-up their student.
Is childcare provided at orientation?
No, please do not bring your children – this is YOUR day to get acclimated!
What are the benefits of attending orientation?
New Student Orientation and Registration allows you to get acclimated to the college before classes start. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers about everything Mercy College has to offer. There are plenty of opportunities to meet other new Mercy College students, which will enable you to form bonds and friendships before the semester starts. You will meet with your faculty advisor and register for your first semester courses.
How do I get my parking permit and ID Badge?
After you have registered for an Orientation & Registration session, you will need to complete at Student ID Badge and Parking Registration Form. You will also need to arrange a time to have your photo taken before your selected orientation session.
You will receive your Parking Permit at th orientation session and your Mercy College Student ID badge will be available for pick-up by your first week of classes at the Receptionists Desk in the Sullivan Center.
What do I need my ID badge and parking permit for?
The parking permit allows you to park in the 701 Crocker Street student parking lot on campus or Employee lots of Mercy Medical Center at designated times. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed. (Click here to view Student Handbook for details.)
The ID badge must be worn visibly on campus or in clinical settings at all times. It is needed for borrowing books from the college library, print services, identification on clinical sites, and building and parking access. A processing fee of $15 is charged for replacement badges.
