Guest & High School Students
WE’RE WAITING:
BE OUR GUEST, BE OUR GUEST!
Want to enhance your education without enrolling in a degree program? Home for summer and want to pick up a course or two to make next year a little easier? Maybe you haven’t decided which degree program you’re interested in pursuing. Mercy College of Health Sciences has the solution!
DO YOU QUALIFY AS A GUEST STUDENT?
Guest students (also known as unclassified students) are non-degree seeking students who wish to take courses for academic credit but who do not wish to seek a degree. If this sounds like you, you are welcome to enroll in liberal arts and sciences courses at Mercy College on the basis of space availability.
Students must complete a Guest Student Application. Transcripts are not required; however, completion of prerequisite courses will need to be verified. A maximum of thirty (30) credit hours may be earned as a non-degree seeking student.
STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL?
CONSIDER POST SECONDARY ENROLLMENT
The Post Secondary Enrollment (PSEO) Act was enacted in 1987 to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wider variety of options to high school students (Chapter 261C, Iowa Code – Iowa Department of Education).
PSEO provides an opportunity for students who are interested in a career in healthcare to get a jump start on their college education.
Contact your high school guidance counselor to see whether you are eligible to take courses through this program. If eligible, please download, complete, and submit the Notice of Student Registration Form (Senior Year Plus Program – Postsecondary Enrollment Options) to the Mercy College Admissions Office at admissions@mchs.edu, or call 515-643-6715 for help with the process.
