CPR and First Aid

CPR AND FIRST AID

The American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) courses reinforce healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, performing basic steps of CPR, relieving choking, using an AED, and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.

BLS CPR Course: Initial or Renewal


The BLS CPR classroom course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize life-threatening emergencies, administer CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Initial: $60 per participant

BLS CPR Online Course (Part 1)


This AHA course is web-based and accessible 24 hours a day. This course provides a flexible alternative to classroom training. This course teaches the concept of both single-rescuer and team basic life support through case-based scenarios and interactive activities and videos.

Part 1 must be paired with hands-on skills practice and testing sessions (Parts 2 and 3) with an AHA BLS Instructor. Students who successfully complete Part 1 will receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a skills practice and testing session. An AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of all three parts of the BLS CPR course.

Heartsaver CPR AED


Heartsaver CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course will teach you skills with AHA's research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe, provide feedback, and guide your learning of skills.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

Certified Course: Skills Test Only

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED


Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that will teach you the critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking, or sudden cardiac arrest emergency until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.

You'll learn the skills necessary to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid, CPR, and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED


This course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for child care workers. It is an interactive, video-based, instructor led course that teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children.

Community/Friends and Family CPR AED (non-certified)


Friends and Family CPR course teaches adult Hands-Only CPR, adult AED use, child CPR and AED use, and infant CPR. It also teaches how to relieve choking in an adult, child or infant.

Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.
