Mercy College of Health Sciences student Rasima Rahimic was recently named the recipient of the ROSE Award. Rahimic, who is currently working toward her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), also serves as a patient care technician in the orthopedic department of MercyOne. Rahimic was nominated for her demonstration of MercyOne’s cultural belief of personalized care.
“Rasima was off at 7 p.m. but stayed to clean/braid my hair and make me comfortable,” one of Rahimic’s patients wrote. “She made my pain go away for a time while she cleaned the blood, grass, and debris from my scalp and hair. I found her to be compassionate and empathetic. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met.”
The ROSE recognition program honors allied health care staff from all non-nursing or physician disciplines who personify the remarkable patient experience MercyOne strives to achieve for all individuals. MercyOne ROSE Award winners consistently demonstrate MercyOne’s cultural belief of “Personalized Care: Your experience. My responsibility.” They are a role model for others living their expertise and compassionate care, and for all those who enter the hospital – patient, family member, or visitor.
