Mercy College of Health Sciences (Des Moines, Iowa) and Mount Carmel College of Nursing (Columbus, Ohio) are proud to announce their collaboration on an accredited Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology program.
Beginning in May of 2026, students will complete asynchronous online coursework through Mercy College, attend in-person hands-on skills labs at Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, and have clinical experiences at Mount Carmel Health System and our collaborative community affiliates. The program is an extension of Mercy College’s program that is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Graduates located in Ohio will be prepared to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam and meet licensure standards for practice in Ohio.
“Mercy College has a long legacy of preparing compassionate healthcare professionals guided by our Catholic values,” said Dr. Adreain Henry, OD, EdD, MBA, president of Mercy College of Health Sciences. “This collaboration expands that mission beyond Iowa by combining our strengths with Mount Carmel College of Nursing to provide students with flexible, high-quality training in one of the most in-demand healthcare fields.”
Mount Carmel College of Nursing shares in this commitment. “We are thrilled to work with Mercy College to expand access to radiologic technology education in Ohio,” said Dr. Todd Ambrosia, DNP, MSN, MBA, FNP-BC, FNAP, president of Mount Carmel College of Nursing. “By bringing together our academic excellence and valuable hands-on learning, we are ensuring that students receive both outstanding classroom preparation and exceptional clinical experiences.”
Radiologic technologists are vital members of the healthcare team, using advanced imaging technology to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating illness and injury. The profession offers opportunities across hospitals, clinics, and specialized care facilities, with median national wages exceeding $61,000 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
