With the recent launch of Mercy College PLUS, we continue to be innovators in the delivery of healthcare education, making obtaining a healthcare degree affordable and accessible to members of our healthcare affiliates and beyond.
We’re blessed with faculty members who understand and live our core values – knowledge, reverence, integrity, compassion, and excellence – and are committed to creating a caring environment conducive to learning. They are highly motivated and skilled healthcare practitioners ready to help you learn about the latest technology and evidenced-based practices in their specialty areas. Our full-time liberal arts and science faculty members are PhD-prepared and adept at integrating their subject matters into a comprehensive health science curriculum.
Our alumni care for populations across the globe and are among the best and brightest in their fields. They embark upon healthcare careers across the nation and around the world. They also stay right here in Iowa to take care of those in need within our own community.
You might be surprised to learn that in addition to regional accreditation by The Higher Learning Commission, we maintain professional program accreditations with nine additional accrediting bodies that allow our graduates to sit for the necessary licensing exams they need to be successful.
Our efforts today are a direct reflection of the work of a dedicated group of religious women, the Religious Sisters of Mercy (RSM), who arrived in Des Moines in 1893 to establish the city’s first hospital. In 1899, they launched an educational program that now embodies Mercy College of Health Sciences. We are so proud of our association with the legacy that the Sisters have passed on to us, and we hold firmly to the core values they instill in us and we instill in our students.
Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to seeing you on campus in the near future!
