Alice Barton Scholarship


The Alice Barton Scholarship Program, part of the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence, works to empower survivors of domestic violence through education and job training.  Economic abuse is a common and effective tactic that batterers use to control their victims. Financial barriers persist even after a victim successfully leaves their abuser. By enabling victims to gain new knowledge and skills, the Alice Barton Scholarship Program helps victims increase their self-confidence, find better employment, and achieve economic independence.

Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship


The Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship, sponsored by B4 Brands, is awarded each year to five, non-traditional, fulltime students pursuing undergraduate degrees in nursing. All scholarship winners receive a non-renewable scholarship of $1,000 payable directly to the institution in which they are enrolled.

Community Foundation of the Ozarks Scholarships


Scholarships open to recent high school graduates and current college students enrolling in nursing programs as well as other health related fields, with some applications requiring Missouri residency.

Dallas County Hospital Scholarships


Scholarship applications are available to Dallas County students who have just graduated from high school or Dallas County students who are a year from graduation.

Des Moines Women's Club Scholarships


Some Des Moines Women's Club scholarships are supported by current club members' dues and fundraising, and some scholarships are funded by memorial bequests from past members.

Dr. John Manzella Scholarship for Second Opportunities


The Dr. John Manzella Scholarship for Second Opportunities was created with the aim of awarding scholarship funding to students who are currently in school and are the children of previously incarcerated parents.

Executive Women International of Des Moines Scholarships


The Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) scholarship program provides assistance to students in financial need who require financial aid in order to pursue higher education.

F.A. Davis Company Nursing Scholarships


F.A. Davis offers annual scholarship opportunities. F.A. Davis is dedicated to developing teaching and learning solutions that meet the needs of nursing and health science students, educators, and practitioners.

Gabe Jenks Memorial Scholarship


Addicted.org is devoted to helping individuals affected by substance use. We also believe that everyone should have a chance to receive higher education. We are excited to announce our scholarship program to honor both above commitments. Our first selectee Annee Grayson, inspired our organization to name our scholarship after her late brother Gabriel “Gabe” Jenks, who passed away due to fentanyl poisoning. We honor his memory through our commitment to helping those affected by substance use.

Grundy County Hospital Foundation Scholarships


Traditional and non-traditional students are encouraged to apply for Grundy County Memorial Hospital scholarships. These scholarships are offered to students in most degrees at Mercy College in at least the second semester of the degree while attending a minimum half-time.

Healthcare Scholarships for Veterans 


This scholarship is for individuals who are currently serving, or have served, in the U.S.military, National Guard, or Reserves and are interested in completing nursing or certification programs in Iowa with the intent of pursuing a career in long-term care.

Iowa Business and Professional Women Foundation Scholarships


The Iowa BPW Foundation was established in 1988 for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. Since that time, the Educational Scholarship Committee has awarded numerous scholarships to deserving women and men in order to help them continue their higher education.

The IHCA Foundation is an affiliate of the Iowa Health Care Association that represents more than 800 Iowa long-term care providers.

The Iowa Heart Foundation offers nursing scholarships for students attending college and universities in Iowa.

Iowa Hospital Association Scholarship


The Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF), offers scholarships of up to $6,000 ($3,000 per year for a max of two years) to qualified candidates. Award recipients must be willing to work in an Iowa hospital for each year of scholarship awarded.

The Iowa Nurses Foundation is the charitable and philanthropic arm of the Iowa Nurses Association with a mission to promote and support the professional and educational development of registered nurses in Iowa.

Mark Mariani Grant for First Generation Americans


Mark Mariani is an entrepreneur based in Greenwich, CT who specializes in residential construction and property development.  After the success of his recent scholarship fund, Mark wants to help first generation Americans, and would like to give back through the “Mark Mariani Grant for First Generation Americans”. This grant is available for students who are currently enrolled in a university or high school students who have plans to attend a University.  The grant is meant to help a deserving student with funding who is a first generation American.

MercyOne Newton Medical Center Auxiliary offers scholarships for students interested in pursuing an education in healthcare fields. Scholarship applications are generally available in March each year.

The National Health Service Corps is a competitive federal program that awards scholarships to students pursuing a variety of eligible primary care health professions.

Nurse Corp Scholarship Program


Administered by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, this scholarship program provides awards that pay tuition, fees, and other educational costs. In return and upon graduation, students must work at a Critical Shortage Facility (CSF).

Pilzer/Klein Fighting Cancer Scholarship


The Pilzer/Klein, P.C., Fighting Cancer Scholarship offers $2,500 to a student diagnosed with or recovering from cancer. The firm intends to offer this financial support to incoming and/or current college students in all fields. Applying students are expected to submit 1,000-word essays detailing their experience with their diagnosis and their hopes for the future.

SIARA DESIGNS takes great joy in marrying the relationship between nature, a person’s health, and the environment’s overall well-being. Students applying for the Sustainability in Environment, Art, and Creativity Scholarship are expected to submit 500 to 1,000-word essays for the team’s consideration.

Enos Superfoods is offering a $500 award to a college student who is mindful of their personal wellness and strives to be physically and mentally well despite the demands of attending school.

The End to Stigma Within the Justice System Scholarship offers $2,500 to a student who thinks critically about how stigma impacts the pursuit of justice. Winston Law intends to use this scholarship to encourage the next generation to think critically about the ways they and their peers can work to reduce the stigma that parties pursuing justice face in court.
