Assistant Professor-Nursing

We are seeking candidates for our expanding nursing programs.  The position will provide teaching and guidance to nursing students in the BSN, Accelerated BSN or Paranadic to BSN programs.

Qualifications include a Master's degree in nursing, a minimum of 2 years' experience in a clinical environment and experience and/or education in the med/surg, obestetrics, mental health or community health environments.

EMS Instructor

The EMS Instructor will provide teaching and advisement to students in the EMT and Paramedic programs.  The position will also be responsible for teaching CPR, ACLS and/or PALS certifications in the Mercy College Training Center.

Admissions Counselor

We have 2 openings for an Admissions Counselor to assist the College in the sourcing and recruitment of students to the College.  The position will serve as a resource, providing information on College programs to interested applicants.

Grant Opportunities:

Mercy College recently received a four year grant award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  A program called the Community Advocacy Registered Nurse Education (C.A.R.E.),  Program is designed to increase the number of nursing students and registered nurses trained and working to the full scope of their licenses in community-based primary care teams in Iowa.  The program will also help meet public health nursing needs at local health departments.

We are currently recruiting for positions to work for this program.  The positions are grant funded for four years with no guarantee of continuation beyond the grant.

Continuing Education Coordinator:  Coordinates trainings and workshops for nursing partners, faculty and preceptors in the areas of chronic disease management, mental health care assessment, substance abuse and the roles of nurses in various community settings.  Qualifications include:  Master's degree in nursing, current and valid Iowa RN licensure, and two years' experience working in a clinical environment.  Requisition number:  2018-R0184716.

Partnership Liasion: Develops and coordinates the community based immersion program for students and provides mentorship to preceptors working in the primary care settings to ensure positive learning experiences for students. AmeriCorps Service Learning Coordinator

We are seeking applicants for an AmeriCorp ICAP member to work in collaboration with the College Service Learning Advisory Council, employees and students to organize and oversee the development of community partnerships and the implementation of service-learning community service.  The position will work 35-40 hours/week for 11 months.
