Alumni Relations Coordinator

We have a new opportunity for an Alumni Relations Coordinator.  This position will be responsible for developing, implementing and assisting with programs, services and communications to engage Mercy College alumni.  

Qualifications include:  bachelor's degree in business or related field or 3 years' experience in development, alumni relations or fundraising, demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and prioritizing simultaneous donor activities and special projects and strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills.  Requisition number:  2018-R0185633.

Grant Opportunities:

Mercy College recently received a four year grant award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  A program called the Community Advocacy Registered Nurse Education (C.A.R.E.),  Program is designed to increase the number of nursing students and registered nurses trained and working to the full scope of their licenses in community-based primary care teams in Iowa.  The program will also help meet public health nursing needs at local health departments.

We are currently recruiting for three positions to work for this program.  The positions are grant funded for four years with no guarantee of continuation beyond the grant.

Clinical Coordinator Coordinates the community based clinical experiences for students in the BSN program.  Serves as liaison between the College and the clinical sites to ensure optimual student learning experiences.  Qualifications include:  Master's degree in Nursing, current and valid Iowa RN licensure, two years' experience in a clinical environment and a passion for helping others.  Requisition number:  2018-R0184726.

Continuing Education Coordinator:  Coordinates trainings and workshops for nursing partners, faculty and preceptors in the areas of chronic disease management, mental health care assessment, substance abuse and the roles of nurses in various community settings.  Qualifications include:  Master's degree in nursing, current and valid Iowa RN licensure, and two years' experience working in a clinical environment.  Requisition number:  2018-R0184716.

Administrative Assistant:  Provides general office support for grant activities.  The position is part-time, 20 hours/week.  Qualifications include a two  year degree, three years' experience providing support to multiple individuals and strong organization and interpersonal skills.  Requisition number:  2018-R-184727.

Academic Advisor

We are expanding our services to students by adding another position for Academic Advisor.  This position will be responsible for advising and guiding students as they explore programs of study and assist them with career development.  

Qualifications include a Master's degree in higher education, advising, student services, psychology, health sciences business or related field, 2 years' experience in academic advising, admissions, career counseling or recruitment and demonstrated ability in building and maintaining strong relationships.  Requisition number:  2018 -R0178809

AmeriCorps Service Learning Coordinator

We are seeking applicants for an AmeriCorp ICAP member to work in collaboration with the College Service Learning Advisory Council, employees and students to organize and oversee the development of community partnerships and the implementation of service-learning community service.  The position will work 35-40 hours/week for 11 months.

Adjunct Faculty Positions

Nursing

Adjunct instructors are needed to teach in the clinical environments for the ASN and BSN programs.

Qualified candidates will possess a master's degree in Nursing and 2 years experience as an RN.  Current and valid Iowa Registered Nursing license is required.

Adjunct instructors are needed to teach CPR, ACLS and PALS courses.

Qualifications include a BLS certification in CPR for the Healthcare Worker and experience in healthcare delivery. CPR, ACLS and PALS instructors must have a current Instructor Certification.  For ACLS and PALS a minimum of 1-year experience as an ACLS or PALS provider is required.
