Of the 60 total colleges and universities in the state of Iowa, Mercy College of Health Sciences earned the #6 spot for the best value college in Iowa, according to TextbookRush, an online resource to buy textbooks.

The study was conducted by TextbookRush with the goal of informing students of affordable ways to complete their education. They compiled data from three variables:

  1. Cost of attendance
  2. Earnings 6 years post-enrollment (early career)
  3. Earnings 10 years post-enrollment (established career)

"With the rising cost of higher education and the impact it can have on your future, it has become increasingly important to make sure your college selection is a good one,” stated Cody Gault, TextbookRush Communications Specialist.

“We wanted to shed some light on this issue, so we tapped into the Department of Education's College Scorecard data to determine which colleges provide students the best opportunity for post-graduation success without breaking the bank along the way. Mercy College of Health Sciences earned the #6 spot on our list of the best value colleges in Iowa thanks to the institution's affordable cost of attendance and strong early and established career earnings of graduates,” stated Gault.

One of Mercy College’s most popular academic programs, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), has a median wage of $71,730, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics.

In addition to post-graduation earnings, from 2017-2018, Mercy College awarded nearly $300,000 in institutional scholarships, with an average award for those who were selected of over $1,300.
