You may be just starting your educational journey to your chosen career. We’re pleased that you’ve trusted us to help you. Your time at Mercy College is literally the beginning stage of your career.

As you progress through your educational journey, always do the best you can. Your journey is not only to obtain the needed education; it will also be a journey towards securing a position in your chosen field. As you come in contact with medical professionals in your chosen field, they will be not only teaching you, but also assessing your abilities and desire to succeed in the field. They will be looking at how well you take direction, how you react to constructive criticism, your relationships with others and how serious you are about joining this profession.

Listen carefully to those who have “been there, done that.” Learn how to react positively when given feedback with which you may not agree. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, but do so in a tactful and professional manner. When doing your clinical rotations, take them seriously. Arrive on time and in uniform.

There will be times when you wonder why you chose the profession you did, but if you hang in there, it will be worth the effort.
