Short-term Certificate ProgramsAre you looking for a career change? Have you heard about the demand for workers in health care? Do you need a quick way to increase your income? Mercy College offers three short-term certificates providing quality educational offerings to meet the needs of health care employers. Short-term certificate programs are held over the course of 7 to 17 weeks. A variety of day and evening courses are available. Classes are taught by leading professionals in various health care fields. Application ProcessThe successful applicant for admission to short-term certificate courses must complete and submit the MeCollege Application by the posted deadline.
Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)The Post Secondary Enrollment Act was enacted in 1987 to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wider variety of options to high school students. PSEO provides an opportunity for students who are interested in a career in health care to get a jump start on their college education. By completing a short-term certificate program, students will be equipped to work in a variety of health care settings while fulfilling prerequisites for future programs of study at Mercy College. Contact your high school guidance counselor to see whether you are eligible to take courses through this program. If eligible please download, complete and submit the Notice of Student Registration Form (Senior Year Plus Program - Postsecondary Enrollment Options) to the Mercy College Admissions Office. The Postsecondary Enrollment Options Program is open to only Eligible Students as that term is defined by Iowa Law. Not all courses offered by Mercy College may be taken through the Program. Interested students must work through their respective school district. Interested students will find additional information in: (i) their district’s student registration handbook, (ii) Iowa Code Chapter 261E and (iii) Iowa Administrative Code Section 281, Chapter 22.
