Campus and Facilities 

The Mercy College of Health Sciences campus is located in Des Moines, just off Interstate 235 in central Iowa (map). Our campus includes fully equipped classrooms and lecture halls, skills laboratories, student computer laboratories and student lounges, as well as faculty and administrative offices.

Clinical instruction is provided at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines and other health care locations in the metropolitan and surrounding areas.

Founded

Mercy Hospital opened its formal nursing school in 1899. Mercy College evolved from the Mercy School of Health Sciences – a certificate and diploma institution established in January 1994 as a consolidation of the Mercy Schools of Nursing, Radiology and Emergency Medical Services. Mercy College of Health Sciences was officially formed in July 1995.

Mercy College library resources are located both on the main campus and at Mercy Medical Center. Both locations offer electronic discs, information services, books, journals, medical texts, reference materials, DVDs, videotapes and other materials.

Education Partners

The Mercy College Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration program has an articulation agreement with the Master of Science of Health Care Administration at Des Moines University, allowing our students to transfer into that program with no loss of credits.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition at Mercy College is among Iowa’s most affordable for private colleges!
  • Full time tuition (12 credits or more): $6,300/semester
  • Part-time tuition (11 credits or less): $425/credit hour

Financial Aid

In 2006-07 Mercy College awarded an estimated $5,816,217 through scholarships, loans, grants and work-study aid. Ninety-five percent of Mercy College students receive some form of financial aid. Our financial aid officers are happy to visit with you to determine if you qualify.

Students eligible for Iowa Tuition Grant Funds must complete and file the FAFSA by June 30th. Complete your FAFSA online as soon as you file your taxes to ensure the greatest opportunity to receive all the assistance for which you qualify.
