Nursing Organizations
Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society
Mercy College sponsors a chapter of the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society to reward intellectual accomplishment, character and leadership.
Mercy College Association of Nursing Students (MCANS)
The Division of Nursing encourages all new students in the Associate of Science in Nursing program to become members of the Mercy College Association of Nursing Students (MCANS). This membership includes participation in both the Iowa Association of Nursing Students (IANS) and the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) organizations. Our alumni tell us they benefit from learning about the values and culture of the nursing profession through their student involvement in the NSNA.
As a member of MCANS, you will help with fund raising and community service activities, as well as social and professional events. Students can serve as officers of the organization, chair committees and represent their chapter at state and national conventions. See the NSNA registration form for more details.
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing
This organization honors superior achievement and leadership among BSN students, alumni and faculty.
