Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration Admission Requirements

The successful applicant for admission to the bachelor of science degree program must meet the general college requirements for admission to Mercy College and the criteria listed below. Admission to the College does not guarantee admission to a professional program. Upon being granted general College admission, students may enroll in Liberal Arts and Science (LAS) courses in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Students are encouraged to take LAS courses at Mercy College to meet the GPA program requirement below (9 credits are required).

  1. Show proof of or demonstrate progress toward certification/licensure or an associate degree from an accredited institution and receive 30 hours of college credit in the certification coursework. Applicants may apply for admission with 30 hours of undergraduate coursework in a major, with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and a minimum of five years of work experience. Candidates without licensure and work experience will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis.
     
  2. Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 for all applicable college transfer work.
     
  3. Achieve a grade of “C” or higher (not “C-”) in all transferred health care administration core courses.
     
  4. Interview with Health Care Administration Program Chair.
