Faculty & Staff Resources

Mercy College offers many resources to assist faculty and staff in their role as educators, advisors and College-community members.

An online Faculty/Staff course is available through Blackboard™, our online course management system. This site provides links to resources on advising, library resources, student graduation requirements (Communication Competency, Community Service Project, and Portfolio), course design, tools within Blackboard™, and faculty policy manual. An online chat area is also available.

Bi-monthly Lunch and Learn programs allow faculty and staff to share information on various topics related to teaching, College policies and practices, and the support services that are available to them. In addition, Professional Development days are held in the fall during orientation week, as well as October and January.

To bring a sense of community and foster a cooperative network, a mentoring program is in place at the College. If desired, new employees are matched with an experienced College employee as a resource person. The mentor provides access to sources of support and information and helps the employee become familiar with the College culture.

Another information resource for employees is MercyNet, the Mercy Medical Center employee website. This is how Mercy College employees access HealthStream®, their continuing education provider. Other educational opportunities may be located on the site, as well as general policies related to health and Mercy employment. To log on to MercyNet, follow the link under Quick Info above, and use your existing login and password.
