IHERF scholarship

Iowa Hospital Association Scholarship

The Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF), an IHA subsidiary, offers scholarships of up to $6,000 ($3,000 per year for a max of two years) to qualified candidates. Award recipients must be willing to work in an Iowa hospital for each year of scholarship awarded. Visit the Iowa Hospital Scholarship site to confirm eligibility and apply. Iowa Heart Foundation

Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship

The Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship, sponsored by B4 Brands, is awarded each year to five, non-traditional, fulltime students pursuing undergraduate degrees in nursing. All scholarship winners receive a non-renewable scholarship of $1,000 payable directly to the institution in which they are enrolled.

Karman Healthcare Scholarship Fund

Karman Healthcare Scholarship Fund Disability Awareness Scholarship, is a $500 scholarship awarded to a student who suffers from a mobility disability. Please see link for more information. The Des Moines Women’s Club will award scholarships in the following categories:

  • Lois E. Dell Memorial Scholarship - Any Academic Field - $1000
  • Olive C. Riddell Memorial Scholarship - Any Academic Field - $1000
  • Rose Lorenz Schwartz Memorial Scholarships - Performing Arts - $1500
  • Helen McEwan Memorial Scholarship - Elementary Education - $1500
  • Liselotte Gurau Memorial Scholarship - Health Sciences - $1000

A Place for Mom Senior Care Innovation Scholarship

Five $1000 scholarships available to students enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or graduate level program at an accredited school in the fields of gerontology, medicine, nursing, social work, sociology, psychology, physical or occupational therapy, speech pathology or long-term care administration.
