Iowa Hospital Association Scholarship
The Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF), an IHA subsidiary, offers scholarships of up to $6,000 ($3,000 per year for a max of two years) to qualified candidates. Award recipients must be willing to work in an Iowa hospital for each year of scholarship awarded. Visit the Iowa Hospital Scholarship site to confirm eligibility and apply. Direct all questions to Cindy Schultz, Director, Finance and Human Resources at IHERF. The deadline for 2013 is March 29th.
Iowa Heart Foundation
The Iowa Heart Foundation would like to remind students that scholarship applications for the 2013-2014 academic year are due for submission March 31, 2013. Two of the five scholarships are specifically for Mercy College of Health Sciences students.

Altrusa International Louise Rosenfeld Scholarship
Altrusa International offers a vocational scholarship for female students living in Story City who are 23 or older.
The deadline is April 9, 2013

Spencer Hospital Scholarships
Spencer Hospital offers two scholarships and one low interest loan program. The Shine scholarship and the Cornwall loan are offered to persons who have successfully completed their first semester of nursing or an allied health program. The Adam J. Anderson scholarship annually awards funds to persons pursuing education and training to become a certified EMS provider.
The deadline for all three is March 31, 2013.

Skiff Medical Center offers a variety of scholarships for students living in Jasper County or any area served by Skiff Medical Center.

Women's Opportunity Award
Given by the Des Moines chapter of the Soroptimist International Organization, this award goes to a female head of the household (primary earner) who is attending or has been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or undergraduate degree, and who also demonstrates a financial need. Applications and references are due Dec. 15, 2012. Application and any questions can be sent to Cheryl Kluza.
