Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) is a national non-profit health corporation based in Denver, Colorado. The CHI health system includes 73 hospitals, 40 long-term care, assisted-living and residential facilities and two community-based health service organizations; and home health agencies located in 19 states. Catholic Health Initiatives represents approximately 69,000 employees and total revenues of $9 billion. It is the third largest Catholic health system in the United States.

Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines is one of the largest hospitals within Catholic Health Initiatives. Mercy College of Health Sciences is the only higher education subsidiary within the CHI System.
