Career Opportunities

Just Look at Tomorrow's Jobs!

Skilled health care workers are in high demand in virtually every area of health care. Medical assistant positions, for example, are projected to increase by 35% by 2016.

As our economy continues its shift from goods-producing to service-providing employment and as Baby Boomers enter retirement, the need to educate health care workers in nursing and allied health careers has never been greater. High-tech and other medical services employers will find it increasingly difficult to fill the demands of a large, growing population.

More people than ever before are looking to colleges for health care degrees or additional education to advance their careers and remain competitive in the job market. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, education and health services is a “super-sector” in today’s economy. That means in the next decade health care professionals will enjoy some of the fastest growing job prospects in the U.S.

At Mercy College, we’re more than ready to meet that challenge. Graduates of Mercy College:

  • Complete our accredited programs with bachelor or associate degrees in one of 14 career fields.
  • Move into high-demand jobs within the health care industry.
  • Have rewarding careers that become stories of fulfillment and success.
  • Comprehend the importance of the holistic approach to health care.
  • Enter fields such as diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, surgical technology or nuclear medicine expected increase in employment opportunities more than 20% by 2014.
  • Understand the importance of the holistic approach to health care, melding physical, mental and spiritual health to improve or sustain wellness.
