AmeriCorps VISTA Opportunity
The VISTA will design and implement a comprehensive financial literacy program for Mercy College. The position includes developing program materials, creating and presenting seminars, identifying outreach opportunities, developing "train the trainer" materials, working with students and identified trainers, and coordinating and overseeing the financial literacy program. The position will also assist faculty with the implementation of service learning components in their courses and programs. Application and more information regarding becoming a VISA are available at
Surgical Technology Program Chair
Responsibilities include oversight of the Surgical Technology program and faculty.
Qualifications include master's degree; certification in Surgical Technology and experience.
The counselor will serve as the "face" of Mercy College when attracting potential students to the College. The position includes attending recruiting events, College fairs, and building relationships wherever potential students might be.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree; ability for local and overnight travel; valid Iowa driver's license and strong interpersonal skills.
Student Health Nurse
The Student Health Nurse will provide health care and education to College students and serve as a health information resource to the College community.
Qualifications include a BSN, current and valid Iowa RN license, 2 years of clinical nursing experience and knowledge of health and wellness education.
Sonography Clinical Coordinator-PT
The position will provide instruction and clinical coordination for students in the general sonography. Hours may be 20 to 30 hours per week and can be flexible.
Qualifications include an associate's degree in sonography; bachelor's degree required; 2 full-time years as a sonographer; credentialed in AB/OB/GYN; credentialed in vascular preferred.
Director of Campus Ministry
This position will provide spiritual support to all members of the College community and to administer campus ministry needs. In addition, the position will teach academic courses in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and supervise the onsite Living and Learning Community.
Qualifications include Master's degree in ministry, scripture, theology or religious studies; Demonstrated ability to teach in higher education; practicing Roman Catholic; 3 years experience with non-traditional aged young adult ministry.
The successful candidate will be required to live in the Living and Learning Community at Mercy Court. Rent and furnishings provided by the College.
Dean, School of Allied Health
The Dean will provide oversight and leadership for the School of Allied Health. The position will be responsible for developing a strategic plan, integrating marketing, recruitment, student performance objectives, retention efforts and attrition analysis. The Dean will serve as an advocate for the School internally and externally.
Qualifications include a PhD or earned doctorate in an academic area; 5 years experience in administration at an accredited college or university; teaching experience at the college level in one of the disciplines within an allied health profession and demonstrated experience with accreditation.
2 full-time positions teaching in the Associate of Science in Nursing program.
Qualifications MSN, 2 years in a clinical environment and proficiency in teaching methodologies; PhD, EdD or DNP preferred.
Program Chair, Nursing
The position will be responsible for administering the programs within the School of Nursing. Responsibilities include faculty oversight, curriculum development, policy and procedure development and accreditation and retention activities. The incumbent will be asked to teach one course per semester.
Qualifications include a PhD or EdD in a related field, Master's degree in Nursing or Nursing Education; 5 years experience teaching in a higher education institution, current and valid Iowa RN license and 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse.
Adjunct Faculty Positions
Adjunct instructors are needed to teach in the clinical environments for the Associate of Nursing program.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and 2 years experience as a RN. Current and valid Iowa Registered Nursing license is required.
CPR, ACLS and PALS
Adjunct instructors are needed to teach CPR, ACLS and PALS courses.
Qualifications include a BLS certification in CPR for the Health care Worker and experience in health care delivery. CPR, ACLS and PALS instructors must have a current Instructor Certification. For ACLS and PALS a minimum of 1 year experience as an ACLS or PALS provider is required.
