Personal History

As a child I was hospitalized for an extended period of time and greatly touched by my nurse, Diane. She took care of me differently than all the other nurses because she not only cared for my physical needs but brought a smile to my face and always made me feel special. At one time in my life I aspired to be Diane. I wanted to be able to make a difference in other children's lives while they were hospitalized. I attained that goal and still carry those moments shared with very special children.

Today, I aspire to lead and prepare other nurses to attain that same goal of comforting a child and their family physically, mentally, and spiritually when they are most scared and vulnerable.

My husband and I reside in Ankeny, IA with our two sons Elijah and Emmitt. We enjoy being outdoors, riding bicycles, and spending time with our families.
