Mercy College of Health Sciences (Des Moines, IA) will confer certificates/degrees (Associate and Bachelor of Science) to 151 candidates in eight different health care disciplines, at a ceremony held in the Grand Ballroom of the Iowa Events Center, 730 Third, Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, August 17, 2012.
The Most Reverend Richard E. Pates, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Des Moines will be presiding over the ceremony and will be commissioning graduates by blessing their handswith olive oil as a reminder of the calling of service they will undertake through their chosen healthcare careers.
John Kraemer, PA, F-ABMDI, Director of Forensic Operations, Iowa State Medical Examiner will deliver the Commencement Address.
Associate of Science in Nursing Candidate Zachery Ahmann will deliver the Student Address.
Rose Marie Cunion, RN'66, CCRN and the 1999 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient will be presented the 2012 honorary Doctor of Health Science (D.H.Sc.) degree by Mercy College.

A reception, hosted by Mercy College President Barbara Q. Decker, for graduates and their families will be held immediately following the ceremony in the Sullivan Center Lobby for light refreshments.
