Personal History

Being able to teach students and witness their growth and advancement in the nursing profession has been extremely rewarding. When I visit hospitals in Des Moines and Central Iowa, I always see former students in all aspects of nursing practice. It continually amazes me how much these nurses have accomplished in practice and leadership roles in the profession of nursing.

My personal interests are golfing and traveling with my husband Tom. I am also committed to personal wellness and fitness. I  was awarded a 2010 Light of Wellness award from the Wellness Council of Iowa.
